What is Environmental Sanitation Regime?
The Environmental Sanitation (ES) Regime is a set of guidelines made by the NEA in 2019. The goal of ESR is to promote environmental hygiene and its role in preventing the spread of infectious diseases including COVID-19. Guidelines apply to all sorts of industries including the pest management industry.

Implement routine cleaning and disinfection frequencies to high-risk areas and a thorough cleaning and disinfections routine every 6 months.

Carry Out Yearly Maintenance
Carry out yearly maintenance of surfaces and inspect all areas.

Put Cleaning and Disinfection Protocols in Place
Put in place a cleaning and disinfection protocol and ensure that workers are trained and provided with the necessary equipment and cleaning agents to carry out effective cleaning and disinfection.
Step 4
Implement a Pest Management Plan
Achieve desired outcome based on cleanliness indicators and implement a pest management plan, inclusive of a comprehensive pest management survey to be conducted minimally once every 6 months to review the effectiveness of the pest management plan.

Ongoing Monitoring of Any Vector Issues
Make sure of no significant vector issues within the premises at any time.
- Engage and ensure a pest management plan is developed and filed on-site to ensure that measures are in place to prevent pest issues.
- A comprehensive pest management survey is to be conducted minimally once every 6 months. The survey is to comprise of findings and recommendations for any Pest Infestations, Sanitation Issues and Structural Defects.
